Electrical Engineering Professional with over 28 years of experience in Detailed Engineering Design and Project Management, specializing in core electrical detail and layout engineering, FEED & proposal engineering, and engineering management.

Profile

Mr. Satyan has extensive knowledge in engineering of power plants, switchyards & substations, infrastructure projects (Metro Rail and Airports), high-rise commercial buildings, industrial engineering, large oil & gas processing plants, and storage tank farm facilities. He has handled projects ranging in value up to USD 2 Billion in the capacity of Lead Engineer, with international engineering design consultancies including M/s. Development Consultancy Ltd (DCL), Chennai, M/s. Voltas International Ltd., UAE, M/s. Larsen & Toubro ECC Division, HQ Chennai, and M/s. Petrofac International Ltd., Chennai.

Major Responsibilities

Project Management

  1. Planning, scoping, estimation, tracking & implementation of project plans within the specified budgets and deadlines.
  2. Preparing project schedules / plans, engineering designs / drawings and technical specifications as per client requirements.
  3. Liaising with clients & consultants on determining technical specifications and requirements.

Design Engineering

  1. Administering the design and development of equipment layouts, power distribution, and layout engineering such as cable tray, lighting and earthing layouts for various projects.
  2. Model review, design review, deliverables list / schedule preparation and man-power planning, inter-discipline coordination, vendor coordination and vendor document review, preparation of RFQs and technical bid analyses to finalise the vendor.

Field Support

  1. Anchoring on-site construction activities to ensure completion of the project within time & cost parameters, and effective resource utilization to maximize output.
  2. Preparing and reviewing method statements and work-specific quality control plans.
  3. Ensuring machinery / equipment / materials received are in accordance with quantity & quality.
  4. Clearing day-to-day site technical queries.
  5. Coordinating with electrical, mechanical and other related departments to ensure work progress meets all norms.

Team Management

  1. Coordinating manpower planning and competency building for implementation of new projects.
  2. Responsible for team building and providing effective leadership to realize the potential of every member of the team for delivering quantifiable results.
  3. Strong management skills with excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
